WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UCLA junior playmaker and set defender Erin Golaboski of Severna Park, MD has been named the MPSF Player of the Week for the week of February 14-20.
Golaboski was named to the UC San Diego NoGrip Invitational All-Tournament team after helping UCLA capture the title. She scored nine goals at the Invitational, recording at least one goal in each of UCLA's six games. Against UC San Diego on February 11, she recorded a team-high three goals, and in the Championship match against California, she registered a goal to help bring the Bruins to a 6-5 win.
This season, Golaboski switches back to the field after spending 1999 as UCLA's starting goalkeeper where she earned third-team All-American and honorable mention MPSF honors.
Thus far, UCLA has captured both Player of the Week honors for the 2000 season, with sophomore attacker Elaine Zivich picking up the first.
