UCLA Baseball Inks J.D. Haver

Los Angeles - Head Coach John Savage announced Monday that J.D. Haver (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach Wilson HS) has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to attend school and play baseball at UCLA. Haver, a 6-foot-5 right-handed pitcher, joins nine other student-athletes who will join the UCLA program in the fall.

"J.D. is a potential power pitcher and will add depth to our pitching staff," Savage said. "He comes from an outstanding high school program and we expect him to contribute immediately."

Haver joins Charles Brewer (Paradise Valley, Ariz/Chaparral HS), Gavin Brooks (Vista, Calif./Rancho Buena Vista HS), Garett Claypool (West Hills, Calif./El Camino Real HS), Gabe Cohen (Woodland Hills, Calif./El Camino Real HS), Matthew Drummond (Paso Robles, Calif./Paso Robles HS), Casey Hearther (Chatsworth, Calif./Chaminade HS), Jeff Rapoport (Westlake Village, Calif./Westlake HS), Justin Uribe (Tustin, Calif./Foothill HS), and Mickey Weisser (Citrus Heights, Calif./Sierra College) as incoming Bruins for the 2007 season.

Named to 2006 All-Dream Team by the Long Beach Press Telegram... Pitched for the Tampa Bay Devil Ray scout team.
