Keira Goerl Named Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UCLA senior Keira Goerl has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week and Arizona sophomore outfielder Autumn Champion has been named the Player of the Week for February 9-15, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Goerl, a senior from Moreno Valley, Calif., pitched the Bruins to three wins at the UNLV Classic, over No. 8 Nebraska, Wisconsin and Michigan. Goerl's week was highlighted by her first no-hitter of the season against Wisconsin. It was the 10th no-hitter of her career. For the week, Goerl was 3-0, recorded a 0.00 ERA, registered three complete games, two shutouts, 20 strikeouts and a .161 opponent batting average.

This is the first weekly honor for Champion, the 82nd all-time honor for the Wildcats. For Goerl, it is her 10th weekly award, and the 77th all-time for the Bruins.
