EUGENE, Ore. - The third-ranked UCLA men's tennis team notched its first shutout since Mar. 29 Saturday, defeating Oregon, 7-0 in Eugene. With the victory, UCLA improves to 18-3 overall and 5-0 in Pac-10 play.
The Bruins dominated every facet of the match Saturday, taking all three doubles matches to claim the one point awarded for doubles play. In singles action, UCLA won five of the six matches in straight sets.
The good news for UCLA is that the Bruins are back at full-strength heading into the most important part of the season. Bruin junior Rodrigo Grilli played his first match since Mar. 30, defeating Oregon's Jason Menke, 7-6, 6-4 at No. 4 singles.
The Bruins travel to the Bay Area next weekend for matches with Stanford and Cal.
