Stanford, CA ---No. 4-ranked Stanford (22-1, 13-0) pulled away from UCLA (12-12, 7-6) in the second half of a Pac-12 Conference game in Maples Pavilion on Sunday afternoon to earn its 19th straight win on the season by a score of 82-59. UCLA senior guard Rebekah Gardner became the 26th Bruin women's player to reach the 1,000-point career scoring mark during the contest and posted her 12th-straight game in double digits scoring.

Stanford opened the second half of action by outscoring the Bruins 7-2 to claim its first double digit lead of the game. The Cardinal moved out to a 50-38 lead on a basket by Nnemkadi Ogwumike at the 13:51 mark. UCLA sliced the gap to eight at 51-44 at 11:34 after baskets by Rhema Gardner and Corinne Costa. The Cardinal answered with an 11-0 run to take control of the game. Back-to-back three-point shots by Stanford freshman Taylor Greenfield made the score 62-44 with 9:53 to go. Mariah Williams' basket with 8:08 on the clock cut it to 66-46 and marked UCLA's first points since the 11:34 mark.

UCLA and Stanford battled back and forth in high-paced first half of action which saw five lead changes and five ties. Stanford matched its biggest lead of the first half by scoring eight of the last 10 points of the first twenty minutes. UCLA had taken a 28-27 lead on a pair of free throws by Markel Walker at the 4:09 mark. A pair of free throws and a rebound basket put the Cardinal up 31-28 with 2:40 on the clock. Walker made two more from the line with 2:16 remaining to narrow the margin to one. Nnemkadi Ogwumike scored the final two hoops of the half to help the Cardinal take a 35-30 advantage into the locker room. Walker led UCLA with nine first-half points.

Gardner's hoop with 6:49 to play made her the 26th Bruin earned her a key to the 1,000-point club at UCLA. She finished with a total of 15 points. Walker led the Bruins with 16 points and 10 rebounds, her eighth double of the season and the 10th time in the last 11 games she has reached double digits on the boards. Thea Lemberger added 13 for the Bruins. Nnemkadi Ogwumike topped all scores in the contest with 25 points.
