This is the 227th meeting between UCLA and Stanford with the Bruins leading the series 135-91 (.597). UCLA has won the last six meetings at home and nine of the last 12 matchups overall, but dropped this season's earlier meeting at Stanford 60-59 in Maples Pavilion (Dec. 29). Josh Huestis blocked Lazeric Jones' potential game-winning shot at the buzzer. Jones led all scorers with a career-high 26 points. Tyler Lamb and Joshua Smith each scored 10 points for UCLA. Stanford was led by Aaron Bright's 16 points. John Gage and Chasson Randle each scored 10 points for the Cardinal. UCLA defeated Stanford last year in Los Angeles with a 68-57 victory in Pauley Pavilion on Jan. 22, 2011. Malcolm Lee led the Bruins with 23 points while Jones added 17 points. Josh Owens led Stanford with a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds. UCLA Head Coach Ben Howland is 11-7 against Stanford overall and 6-2 in Los Angeles.

CHARTING COACH HOWLAND
Ben Howland earned his 300th victory of his career with the 72-54 win over DePaul in the 15th Annual John R. Wooden Classic (Dec. 13, 2008). He is currently 370-191 (.660), which ranks 35th on the winningest active coaches list by percentage and 50th on the active list by victories. Howland's first career victory was his first game at Northern Arizona in 1994, a 71-69 victory over New Mexico Highlands. His 100th career victory came in his second season at Pittsburgh in the 77-65 win at home over Seton Hall (Jan. 13, 2001). His 200th win came in his third season at UCLA with the 56-37 home win over Delaware State (Nov. 19, 2005). Howland is 19-9 (.679) in the NCAA Tournament (15-6 (.714) at UCLA).

COACH HOWLAND HITS MILESTONES
Head Coach Ben Howland attained his 200th career victory at UCLA with the win over Utah (Jan. 26, 2012) and currently sits at 202-93 (.685) in his ninth season at the helm of the Bruins. With the win over Eastern Washington (Dec. 14), Howland passed Jim Harrick for second place on the all-time UCLA career victories list. Harrick posted a 192-62 record in his eight seasons (1988-89 to 1995-96) as the Bruins' mentor. Coach John R. Wooden is the all-time leader at 620-147 (.808) in his 27 seasons (1948-49 to 1974-75).

BRUINS' INJURY REPORT
Sophomore forward Travis Wear left the game at Washington (Feb. 2) in the middle of the second half after spraining his left ankle upon landing from a dunk, but he returned to finish out the contest. He was held out of practice on Feb. 3 and missed the Washington State game (Feb. 4). He participated in limited drills in practice on Feb. 7-8 and will be a gametime decision for the Stanford contest (Feb. 9).

JONES LEADING UCLA
Senior point guard Lazeric Jones had his career-best eight straight games in double figures snapped in the loss at Cal (Dec. 31). He has scored in double figures in 13 of the last 16 games. The Bruins are 11-5 in the last 16 contests after starting the season 2-5. In the last 16 games, Jones has averaged 14.2 points, 5.0 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.6 steals while shooting 47.1 percent (81-for-172) from the field and 42.4 percent (25-for-59) from three-point range.

TWIN PEAKS
The Wear twins (David and Travis) have scored in double figures in the same game eight times this season and they have done so in six of the last 12 contests. Additionally, they posted career-highs in scoring in back-to-back outings as David scored a career-best 17 points in the loss at California (Dec. 31) while Travis had a career-high 20 points in the win over Arizona (Jan. 5). In the last 10 games they are 1-2 on the team in scoring. Travis has averaged 14.0 points while David is averaging 12.7 points per game. David has shot 64.1 percent from the floor (50-for-78) while making 77.8 percent (7-for-9) of his three-point shots and draining 20-for-26 (.769) from the free-throw line.
