BERKELEY, Calif. - The No. 11 UCLA baseball team dropped a 6-5 decision to California in a Pac-12 contest Sunday afternoon, snapping the Bruins' seven-game winning streak, before 1,087 at Evans Diamond.

California erased a 4-2 deficit with four runs (two earned) in the bottom of the eighth inning to secure a 6-4 lead. UCLA scored one run in the ninth before stranding runners at first and third base to end the game.

Joey Donofrio (6-1) earned the victory in relief for the Golden Bears (27-24, 10-17 Pac-12), limiting the Bruins (38-14, 17-10) to one unearned run and three hits in two innings.

Trevor Brown led the Bruins at the plate, collecting a career-high four hits in a 4-for-4 effort with two runs. Jeff Gelalich went 2-for-5 with two RBI, including a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning.

California's Chadd Krist went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs and two RBI. Vince Bruno went 3-for-4 with one double, one run and one RBI.

The Golden Bears' four-run rally in the eighth inning began with Andrew Knapp's one-out run-scoring double that trimmed UCLA's margin to 4-3. The Golden Bears followed with consecutive run-scoring singles from Chad Bunting and Derek Campbell to take a 5-4 lead. With two outs, Bruno lined an RBI-single to center field, allowing Bunting to score California's fourth run of the inning.

In the bottom half of the fifth, the Bruins escaped a bases-loaded, no-out jam. Zack Weiss induced a double play as Mitch Delfino lined out to first baseman Matt Giovinazzo, who tagged out Tony Renda caught off first base. Krist popped up to Zeile at second base, ending the Golden Bears' inning.

Each team scored one run in the first and fourth innings.
