Meister, Puget Selected to NCAA Singles Championships

May 3, 2012

INDIANAPOLIS -- UCLA's Nick Meister and Adrien Puget have earned spots in the NCAA Singles Championships, as NCAA recently announced the 64 singles players and 32 doubles teams that will compete in the 2012 NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championships.

The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 23-28 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga., following the conclusion of the team championship (May 18-22). The University of Georgia will serve as host.

Meister and Puget were at-large selections to the tournament. UCLA still could have another player in the singles draw, as Clay Thompson is currently listed as the third alternate.

All singles players must have a minimum of 13 completed singles matches in order to be selected as an automatic qualifier or an at-large selection to the tournament.

UCLA opens up NCAA Tournament action next week, hosting regional play at the Los Angeles Tennis Center, May 12-13. The Bruins face Eastern Kentucky on Saturday at Noon.
