Incoming UCLA freshman Maria Jose Uribe advanced to the semifinals at the 107th U.S. Women's Amateur following Thursday's matches at Crooked Stick GC in Carmel, Ind.
Uribe easily defeated Mina Harigae of Monterey, Calif., 5 & 4. The 17-year old Columbian began the day with birdies and the first and second holes and never looked back. In the match, Harigae did not win a single hole.
On Saturday, Uribe meets Ha Na Jang of Korea in the semifinals beginning at 10:15 a.m. CDT. Jang eliminated the Bruins' Tiffany Joh on Thursday and beat Alexis Thompson in 20 holes in the quarterfinals.
