LOS ANGELES - UCLA's women's rowing team returns to action in the Stanford Invitational this weekend, April 19-20, in Redwood Shores, Calif. The Bruins will enter two varsity eight boats, one varsity four crew, one novice eight crew and one novice four boat.
In the latest collegiate poll, Stanford's varsity 8+ has been ranked No. 10 and UCLA has earned a No. 16 ranking (as released by USRowing's Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association).
Saturday morning, the Bruins open competition against the University of Victoria in the varsity 8+ race. UCLA will row against Saint Mary's in the second varsity 8+ competition and will race its varsity 4+ crew against the University of Victoria. The Bruins' morning events will conclude with the novice 8+ race against Pac-10 Conference foe Washington State.
That afternoon, UCLA's varsity 8+ crews and varsity 4+ boat will row against Stanford. The Bruins' final Saturday race features the novice 8+ crew competing against Central Florida.
Sunday's events include morning races against Central Florida and Stanford. The Bruins' varsity eights and varsity 4+ crew will race against Central Florida, while the novice 4+ boat will compete against Stanford.
