Senior running back Derrick Coleman (Fullerton, CA/ Troy HS) of the UCLA football team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 6-12.
Coleman, who had zero carries in the first half, tallied 135 total rushing yards on 14 carries, averaging 9.6 yards per run in the final two quarters of the Bruins' victory over San Jose State. In the fourth quarter alone, he rushed for 77 yards on 11 carries, capped off by a 24-yard touchdown run to push UCLA's lead to the final score of 27-17. Coleman also had the longest rush of the day for the Bruins, 42 yards, and had two tackles on special teams.
This is Coleman's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
