Senior driver Kelly Rulon (Point Loma, CA/University of San Diego HS) of the UCLA women's water polo team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Apr. 23-29.
Rulon scored four goals in the championship game of the MPSF Tournament, single-handedly outscoring top-ranked Stanford in a 9-3 victory. She had a hat trick in the first quarter of play to give UCLA a 3-0 lead, and the Bruins cruised to their sixth MPSF title. Rulon, who is just three goals away from becoming UCLA's all-time leading goal scorer, scored three goals in the 10-9 semifinal win over USC and one goal in a 17-5 win over Long Beach State in the first round.
This is Rulon's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and third of her career.
