The UCLA women's golf program, the defending 2011 NCAA team champion, will host its annual Bruin 18 fundraiser on Mon., Sept. 19 at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
This Fall marks the second straight year the Palos Verdes Golf Club will host the event. The course annually hosts the Regional Challenge every Winter and the Bruins are regular participants.
Head Coach Carrie Forsyth and her assistant Alicia Um Holmes have planned an exciting day of golf for next month. Among the myriad of activities are a putting clinic, long drive contest, closest to the pin and a helicopter ball-drop, among many other on-course games. Refreshments, three meals and gift bags can also be purchased depending the participant's level of support.
"We're looking forward to a very special day as we celebrate our 2011 NCAA championship with friends of our program," said Forsyth. "There aren't many fundraisers where the participants actually get to play with the team members, so this is a fun opportunity for Bruin golf lovers."
Among the prizes to be sold at either the live or silent auctions are golf packages to the Monterey Peninsula, Temecula, the Southern California desert, Las Vegas, San Diego and Valencia. The Monterey package includes rounds with Coach Forsyth.
