Former UCLA All-American Jane Park completed a wire-to-wire victory Sunday at the LPGA Q-School Tournament in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Park fired rounds of 65-70-71-68-69--343 (-17) for a three-stroke victory in the 90-hole marathon. She carded five birdies and two bogeys in the final round and received a $6,000 paycheck.
"I was playing great, so I knew I had a good chance to win," Park said. "Just being able to pull it off was just a great confidence booster. I just proved to myself that I can go pretty deep under par. It's a great feeling.
As an LPGA Tour rookie this season, Park earned $64,469 and made nine cuts in 11 starts.
As a freshman at UCLA in 2006, she earned first-team All-America honors and led the Bruins in scoring average.
Three other former Bruins -- Hannah Jun, Hana Kim and Amie Cochran -- earned LPGA conditional status. In that flight, Jun finished 12th at 360 (E), Kim placed 27th at 364 (+4) and Cochran finished 33rd at 365 (+5)
