Shannon Murakami and Kelcie Wiemann had a huge night on Friday in Palo Alto at the Stanford Invitational as both women ran career-bests and moved into the UCLA all-time top-10 in their respective events.

Wiemann ran the third-fastest 10,000m time in school history with her lifetime-best performance. She placed 12th in section two with a top time of 34:58.17, improving on her old best of 36:09.63. No female distance runner has cracked into the 10,000m top-10 since 2003.

Murakami had a huge lifetime-best performance in the 5000m as she placed 12th in section two with a time of 16:28.97, bettering her previous best by 50 seconds (17:19.25). Her new top mark moves Murakami to No. 8 all-time in school history.

Also on Friday, Whitney Blue placed 25th in section four of the 5000m with a time of 17:52.33.
