UCLA rowers Alexandra Bolt and Britta Syverson earned first-team and second-team All-America honors, respectively, by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA).

The Bruin duo led UCLA to a 12th-place overall finish at its first-ever NCAA Championships on May 28-30. As part of the Bruins' varsity eight crew, they led UCLA to a ninth-place overall finish in the V8+ competition and to a third-place finish in the Petite Final on May 30. Bolt rowed six seat and Syverson three seat in the varsity eight.

Bolt, a senior from Santa Rosa, Calif., was also UCLA's lone All-Pac-10 selection. She received the team's Most Inspirational award at UCLA's team banquet last Friday. After graduation, she will be rowing with Vesper Rowing Club out of Philadelphia with the eventual goal of making it to the national team level.

Syverson, a freshman from Minneapolis, Minn., received the team's Freshman of the Year award and will be attending the US Rowing Freshman Camp at the University of Iowa starting next week, along with teammates Alexa Farafontoff and Hillary Caldwell.

Bolt and Syverson become the third and fourth Bruins ever to receive All-America acclaim, joining Kristin Bixel (2005) and Vanessa Teff (2006-08).
