Saturday and Sunday's games are near sellouts. A limited number of tickets may be available on the day of the game on a first-come, first-serve basis but are not guaranteed. Available tickets would go on sale 90 minutes prior to first pitch at the Easton Stadium ticket booth, so be sure to line up early if you don't have your tickets.

LOS ANGELES - Junior B.B. Bates and freshman Stephany LaRosa continued their homer hitting ways, as Bates left the yard twice on a pair of solo shots and LaRosa homered and tied a career high with five runs batted in, as the 14th-ranked Bruins won their Pac-12 opener with an 8-4 victory over Oregon State on Friday at Easton Stadium.

The Bruins improve to 24-6 overall with their 11th win in a row and 1-0 in league, while the Beavers fall to 25-9 and 2-2 in Pac-12 action.

Bates has homered in four straight games (five total bombs) and posted her third-career, two-homer contest. LaRosa, who has homers in three straight (four total bombs), also had a two-run single to tie her personal best in RBI.

In the circle, sophomore Jessica Hall improved to 11-3 on the season, striking out six and giving up three runs (one earned), five hits and one walk in five innings. She had a 1-2-3 inning to start the game and fanned a pair in the first and third. Freshman Ally Carda tossed the last two frames, fanning one and giving up one run, one hit and two walks.

The Bruins scored four times in the bottom of the second. Bates hit her first home run of the game and ninth of the season, a deep shot to straightaway center and likely on to Sunset Blvd., to make it 1-0. Senior Samantha Camuso then drew a free pass, but was retired on a fielder's choice bunt attempt off the bat of senior Dani Yudin. Sophomore Kellie Fox followed by laying down another bunt, but Oregon State pitcher Marina Demore threw low to first, allowing Yudin to scamper to third and Fox to advance to second. Carda would walk to load the bases, and one out later, senior Katie Schroeder earned an RBI the hard way, getting hit by a pitch to bring in UCLA's second run. LaRosa then singled to left to plate Fox and Carda to make it 4-0.

UCLA added another run in the third, as Bates again led off with a home run to center. Not quite as far as the first, but good enough for her 10th bomb of the season to make it 5-0.

Oregon State got on the board in the top of the fourth, as Elizabeth Santana opened up the inning with a home run to left to make it 5-1.

The Bruins answered with three in their half of the fourth on one swing of the bat. With one out, sophomore Talee Snow doubled to left-center, Schroeder reached on a bunt single in front of the circle and LaRosa hit her 10th home run of the season to left to put the home team up 8-1.

Oregon State cut its deficit to 8-3 with a pair in the fifth. Ally Kutz led off with a single to center and was pinch-run for by Isabelle Batayola, who one out later moved to third on a double down the left-field line off the bat of Mary Claire Brenner. One out later, Hall struck out Hannah Bouska, but Yudin couldn't handle the third strike as the ball went to the backstop, allowing Batayola to score, Brenner to move to third and Bouska to reach. Santana followed with a single to left to plate Brenner to make it 8-3.

After leaving two on base in the sixth, Oregon State got a run across in the seventh. Dani Gilmore doubled to right-center to start the inning and Emily Richardson drew a pinch-hit walk. Gilmore and Bouska, who re-entered to run for Richardson, moved up a base on a wild pitch, and one out later, Gilmore scored on an illegal pitch on Carda to make it 8-4. But Carda retired Paige Hall on a ground out to second to end the game.

The Bruins are back in action on Saturday against Oregon State at 6 p.m. Gametracker and free audio will be available at UCLABruins.com.
