LOS ANGELES -Freshman men's tennis player Clay Thompson was the lone Bruin to advance through prequalifying and into the qualifying draw at the D'Novo/ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. on Sunday.

Thompson, who defeated Tennessee's Max Stevens, 7-5, 4-6, 6-1 in the final round of prequalifying, joins seniors Nick Meister and Amit Inbar in the qualifying draw, which begins on Monday.

UCLA's Alex Brigham fell just short in his bid to reach the qualifying draw, as he fell in the final round on Sunday to Virginia's Philippe Oudshoorn, 7-6(8), 7-6(3).
