UCLA senior forward Zakiya Bywaters was named the Pac-12 Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 25-Oct. 1.
Bywaters scored three goals in two games as UCLA won a pair of road games at the Arizona schools, downing Arizona Friday, 2-1, and Arizona State Monday, 4-1, to remain undefeated on the year at 9-0-2. Bywaters was efficient in her 102 total minutes of action, taking six shots, five of which were on goal, and scoring three times. Both of her goals were game-winners. In the 2-1 win at Arizona, Bywaters scored both of UCLA's goals, striking first in the seventh minute and then again in the 48th. She made the most out of her 27 minutes of play at Arizona State, scoring the game-winner at 27:00. Bywaters leads the Pac-12 in scoring with nine goals and 20 points, both career-highs, and is tied for the conference lead with four game-winning goals.
Utah goalkeeper Lindsey Luke earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.
This is the second weekly honor for Bywaters this season and the third for a Bruin in 2012. It is also UCLA's 32nd weekly honor of all-time.
UCLA heads back on the road this weekend to face Oregon on Friday and Oregon State on Sunday.
