Bruins Fall at ITA Intercollegiate Indoors

Nov. 3, 2011

Flushing, N.Y. - UCLA women's tennis players Robin Anderson and Skylar Morton were ousted from the main draw of competition at the USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships on Thursday at the Billie Jean King USTA National Tennis Center.

After receiving a first-round bye, Anderson and Morton suffered an 8-5 loss to USC's Kaitlyn Christian and Sabrina Santamaria in their opening doubles match in New York. Anderson and Morton will play a consolation match against Florida's Lauren Embree and Joanna Mather on Friday.

Following the loss in doubles, the day didn't get any easier for Anderson, who was upset in the first round of singles by Diana Nakic of Baylor, 1-6, 6-2, 6-2. Anderson will play a consolation singles match on Friday against a player yet to be determined.
