Steve Conway Wins Nissan Open Qualifier

Former UCLA All-American Steve Conway won a qualifier today at Industry Hills and will play in the Nissan Open at Riviera Country Club beginning Thursday.

Conway will join former Bruins John Merrick, a PGA Tour rookie, and two-time Nissan Open winner Corey Pavin in the field.

Conway fired a six-under par 66 Monday to earn one of four spots in the Nissan Open field. UCLA junior Daniel Im fired a four-under par 68 and tied for fourth place with four other players. Im was eliminated in the sudden-death playoff.

Other UCLA players who participated in the qualifier were sophomore Lucas Lee, who tied for 26th at 72 (E) and freshman Jason Kang, who tied for 41st at 74 (+2).
