On this week's edition of Trackside with Alec Faldermeyer and Mike Woepse, the duo discuss the Bruins' competition at the Pac-12 Championship including Faldy's win in the hammer and Matthew Kosecki's win in the discus.
The men's team is off this weekend so the Bruins will be busy studying and training. Up next for the team is the NCAA West Prelims, held May 24-26 in Austin, TX. The top 48 athletes in each event will be competing in an effort to advance to the NCAA Championship, held June 6-9 in Des Moines, IA.
The men's team will send Maxwell Dyce (200m, 4x100m), Kent Morikawa (steeple), Dustin Fay (5000m), R.J. Frasier (400m hurdles, 4x100),Woepse (pole vault), Taylor Hobson (long jump), Dillon Stucky (triple jump), Mark Weber (shot put), Kosecki (discus), Thomas Nagengast (discus), Faldermeyer (hammer) and Derek Eager (javelin) to the prelim round. Marcus Nilsson has already advanced to the NCAA meet in the decathlon based on the descending order list.
The women's team will send Ally Courtnall (400m, 4x400m)), Paisley Pettway (800m), Kelsey Smith (5000m), Katja Goldring (10,000m), Brea Buchanan (100m hurdles), Turquoise Thompson (400m hurdles, 4x400m), Alexis Walker (high jump), Allison Koressel (pole vault), Tasha Kolbo (pole vault), Courtney Reginato (pole vault), Kylie Price (long jump), Faith Anumba (triple jump) and Ida Storm (hammer).
