UCLA Hosts No. 15 Ball State on Friday

The fifth-ranked UCLA men's volleyball team meets No. 15 Ball Sate on Fri., Mar. 16 to complete a two-match, non-conference series at Pauley Pavilion. The match begins at 7 p.m.

Darren Preston will call the action on www.uclabruins.com.

The Bruins (13-9) and Cardinals (10-8) met on Wednesday night with UCLA winning 3-0. Seniors Steve Klosterman and Paul George combined for 32 kills as UCLA dispatched the visitors in 80 minutes.

UCLA dominated the match in every way, hitting .455 to BSU's -.021, serving three aces and committing no service reception errors and out-blocking the Cardinals, 12.0-5.5.

"I liked what I saw (on Wednesday) -- a very disciplined block," said Head Coach Al Scates. "We've worked hard on our defense and it was good tonight."

Friday's match will be High School/Club Volleyball Night. Please call 310-206-3444 for more information or to register a team.

In addition, the first 250 fans in attendance will receive mini volleyballs at Friday's match.

Next week, UCLA will take the week off for final examinations before traveling to Pepperdine (Mar. 29) and USC (Mar. 31).

The Bruins will host Cal Baptist (Apr. 4), UC Irvine (Apr. 6) and Long Beach State (Apr. 11) before finishing the regular season on the road at UC San Diego (Apr. 13).
