LOS ANGELES - The UCLA women's water polo team will host an exhibition game against the U.S. women's national team Thursday at Sunset Canyon Recreation Center. Game time is slated for 4 p.m.

The top-ranked Bruins, who posted a perfect 27-0 record during the regular season, will play the national team Thursday afternoon before preparing for the 2008 MPSF Tournament, hosted by San Diego State from April 27-24.

Thursday afternoon, UCLA will welcome back two former Bruins currently on the U.S. national team training roster - Natalie Golda and Jaime Hipp. The women's national team is led by former UCLA water polo head coach Guy Baker.

Last weekend, UCLA won its final three regular-season matches. The Bruins defeated No. 5 San Diego State, 17-5, and Sonoma State, 14-7, at Sunset Canyon Recreation Center on Saturday. The following afternoon, UCLA honored its five seniors in the annual "Senior Day" ceremony before cruising past No. 7 Arizona State, 14-4.

The three-time defending NCAA champion women's water polo team earned the No. 1 seed at the upcoming MPSF Tournament. With Sunday's win over Arizona State, UCLA won its 35th consecutive game, dating back to the 2007 season. The Bruins also completed the fourth perfect MPSF season since the inception of NCAA women's water polo in 2001.
