Blue Team Heads to Bakersfield for Spring Invitational

Feb. 25, 2007

The UCLA men's golf Blue Team travels to Bakersfield for the Cal State Bakersfield Spring Invitational, hosted by Seven Oaks Country Club, Feb. 26-27.

Last season UCLA placed fifth in this event, which was hampered by inclement weather.

Golfers representing the Bruins will be senior Chris Heintz, juniors Craig Leslie and Brandon Christianson, sophomore Lucas Lee and freshmen Charlie Harris and Jason Kang.

Heintz won the Cougar Invitational last week, firing a first round 67 en route to a 54-hole total of 216 (E). Lucas Lee tied for second place at 220 (+4) and Christianson tied for 10th at 228 (+12). Leslie tied for 13th, Harris tied for 14th and Kang tied for 22nd.

"Although we won the event, our scores need improvement," said Assistant Coach Derek Freeman. "We're motivated to improve based on last week's results."
