No. 4 UCLA Men's Water Polo Earns 15-3 Victory Over No. 20 Bucknell

PRINCETON, N.J. - Senior Scott Davidson scored a game-high three goals to help the No. 4 UCLA men's water polo team defeat No. 20 Bucknell, 15-3, on Sunday afternoon and improve to 5-0 on the season. The Bruins won all five of their contests at the season-opening Princeton Invitational at DeNunzio Pool.

UCLA also received one pair of goals each from senior Tyler Jemmett and freshman Josh Samuels.

The Bruins led from the start, opening a 1-0 lead after one quarter. UCLA outscored Bucknell, 5-1, in the second frame to assume a 6-1 margin. The Bruins added six goals in the third quarter and three more in the final frame.

UCLA's balanced offensive attack featured 11 goal scorers. Senior Cole Consani, juniors Emilio Vieira, Jacob Murphy and Ben Hohl, sophomores Cullen Hennessy and Brett Hays and freshmen Clinton Jorth and Griffin White each logged one goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Matt Rapacz made the start for the Bruins, totaling six saves in the first half. Senior Chay Lapin registered two stops in the final two quarters.

UCLA returns to action at the NorCal Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 19. The Bruins will face Concordia University in a first-round match at 11:10 a.m. at Stanford University's Belardi Pool.
