Cantlay Makes Cut at AT&T National

July 1, 2011

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. -- - Patrick Cantlay followed up his opening-round, even par 70 with a 1-under 69 on Friday -- meaning the 19-year-old UCLA sophomore will make the cut in his third straight PGA event.

At one-under 139 after 36 holes, Cantlay is also just six shots off the lead at the AT&T National near Philadelphia. Earlier in June he was the low amateur at the U.S. Open and made the cut at the Travelers Championship in Hartford, CT.

Cantlay is also just the ninth amateur since 1980 with three or more made cuts on the PGA TOUR -- Phil Mickelson leads the way with seven in 1991, which of course also included his win at the Northern Telecom Open.
