WOODLAND, Calif. - Junior attacker Katie Rulon of the top-ranked UCLA women's water polo team captured MPSF Co-Player of the Week honors, the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation announced this week. Rulon scored 12 goals to lead UCLA (10-0) to five victories last week.
Rulon tallied 10 goals in four games at the Stanford Invitational, which culminated in the Bruins' 8-4 win over No. 2 USC (4-2) late Sunday afternoon.
The San Diego, Calif., resident has scored two goals or more in each of UCLA's 10 matches this season. Rulon's 26 goals lead all MPSF scorers, and her 2.60 goals per game ranks third in the conference.
This marks the second time in three weeks in which Rulon has earned MPSF Co-Player of the Week accolades. Rulon, who previously earned the honor the week of Jan. 21-27, shares this week's award with San Diego State's Anna Gonzales.
UCLA returns to action at No. 9 UC Irvine on Friday, Feb. 15. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
