Katie Rulon tied older sister Kelly Rulon's UCLA record for goals in a game with six on Sunday against San Jose State. The second-ranked Bruins won 14-6 to notch their tenth MPSF conference win of the season. They are now 10-1 in league play and 21-2 overall.
The Spartans (14-10, 6-5 MPSF) started the game off strong against the Bruins. SJSU scored first in the opening quarter and played a tough first half. UCLA came out on fire after halftime, outscoring their opponent 5-0 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.
Kelly scored four goals in the game to move to within eleven of tying the all-time Bruin scoring record held by assistant coach Coralie Simmons. She has 57 goals on the season, which is also just seventeen shy of breaking the UCLA individual season scoring record of 74. That record is also held by Simmons.
The final game of the regular season will take place April 20th, at San Diego State University.
