Walker & Koressel Highlight Bruin Women At Triton Invitational

Alexis Walker and Allison Koressel highlighted the women's track and field team on Saturday in La Jolla as a small group of athletes competed at the UCSD Triton Invitational.

Walker was sixth overall in the high jump as she cleared a season-best 5-8. Koressel was the top collegiate finisher in the pole vault and was third overall with a clearance of 13-7.25.

Also in the pole vault, Bruin alum Tori Pena was second (13-7.25), while another alum, Katy Viuf tied for sixth with current Bruin Tori Anthony (6th, 13-1.50). Liz Goodrich placed ninth (12-1.50), while Courtney Reginato was 11th (12-1.50). In the open pole vault section, Haley Stauber tied for third as she cleared a season-best 11-7.75.

Mariah Gibson cleared a season-best in the high jump as she placed 10th in the invite section with a mark of 5-6. In the open section, Shannon Armstrong and Ashley Baucham tied for fifth with equal clearances of 5-2.50.

In the 400m, Briana Barlow was 10th in a time of 57.51. Lauren Hall was 20th in the 1500m, running 4:51.02.

The Bruins will face off with USC next weekend. The hammer competition will be held on Saturday (Apr. 30) at Mt. SAC, while the remainder of the meet will be on Sunday (May 1) at USC.
