NATIONAL POLLS
UCLA sports a national ranking of No. 7 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll and No. 8 in the Associated Press poll. Oregon is unranked in both polls.

SERIES vs. OREGON
This is the 103rd meeting between UCLA and Oregon with the Bruins leading the series 77-25. UCLA won the last two meeting, a 69-57 win in Los Angeles on Feb. 1, 2007. Arron Afflalo led four Bruins in double figures with 17 points. Luc Richard Mbah a Moute added 15 points and 12 rebounds. Bryce Taylor led the Ducks with 17 points. In last year's meeting in Eugene, Ore., the Ducks handed No. 1 UCLA its first defeat of the season (in 15 games), winning 68-66 with Aaron Brooks leading the way with 25 points. Afflalo and Josh Shipp led UCLA with 14 points each. UCLA is 30-19 all-time against the Ducks at Oregon and has won five of the last six meetings overall. Kevin Love's dad, Stan, was an All-Pac-8 performer at Oregon in 1970 and 1971.

CASHING IN ON THE FREEBIES
Through the first six games of the 2007-08 season, the UCLA Bruins were atrocious from the free-throw line, shooting 64.9 percent (98-of-151), ranking ninth in the Pac-10. Only two players were shooting higher than 75.0 percent from the charity stripe. In the last 12 games, the Bruins have been superb, shooting above 75.0 percent from the line as a team in 10-of-12 games while sinking 80.3 percent (179-of-223) during that span. UCLA, which has moved up to fourth in the league at 74.1 percent (277-of-374) on the year, now has five players shooting 75.0 percent or higher from the charity stripe.

SHIPP SCORES 1,000TH POINT
Josh Shipp became the 47th player in UCLA history to score 1,000 points in a career at California (Jan. 5, 2008). Shipp now has 1,044 career points.

WHAT'S WITH THE "C"?
Several Bruin teams will be wearing special jerseys or patches in 2007-08 to commemorate UCLA being the First to 100 NCAA Championships. The men's basketball team will don the new jerseys that have a different-colored "C" in UCLA. The "C" signifies the Roman numeral for 100.
