Head women's track coach, Jeanette Bolden, has announced the 2011 indoor and outdoor schedule for the women's team. The schedule features meets spread out across the country, as well as two home meets in April.
The indoor season will see the Bruins compete in Seattle, WA, Albuquerque, NM, Fayetteville, AR and Ames, IA with the goal of qualifying athletes to the NCAA Indoor Championships, held March 11-12 in College Station, TX.
The outdoor season begins locally with meets at Fullerton (Ben Brown, 3/5) and Northridge (3/11-12). The Bruins will split to compete at the Stanford Invitational March 25-26 and the Cal/NV Championships March 26-27.
UCLA will open up the month of April with an old school dual meet with the Tennessee Volunteers on April 2nd, and then host the annual Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner Kersee Invite the following weekend (4/7-9). Competitions at the Mt. SAC Relays (4/14-16) and UCSD Triton Invite (4/22-23) wrap up the month of April.
The meat of the season begins Sunday, May 1st as the Bruins will travel to USC to compete in the annual dual meet. Post-season begins right after the dual with the Pac-10 Multi-Event Championships May 7-8 and the full Pac-10 meet May 14-15 in Tucson, AZ. Qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor meet will be held in Eugene, OR May 26-27, while the NCAA meet will wrap up the collegiate season June 8-11 in Des Moines, IA.
