UCLA senior 2B Lisa Dodd and junior OF Krista Colburn were both named Second-Team All-Americans by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, it was announced on Wednesday. It is the first career NFCA All-America honor for both players.
Colburn led the Bruins in batting with her .382 average, in runs scored with 50 and in hits with 66. She also hit seven home runs and drove in 32 runs this season.
Dodd led the Bruins with 14 home runs, 49 RBI and a slugging percentage of .694 and was second on the squad with her .369 batting average and her 59 hits. She also tied for the team lead with 12 doubles.
The Pacific-10 Conference also announced that Colburn was named to the Pac-10 All-Academic Second Team. It is the first such honor of her career.
Colburn and Dodd earn UCLA's 87th and 88th All-America honors since former head coach Sue Enquist earned the program's first ever honor in 1978.
