Bolstered by four team victories during the 2011-12 season, UCLA maintained its grasp of the No. 1 ranking in the Golf World/NGCA Women's Division I Coaches' Poll released Wednesday.
The Bruins have been ranked No.1 by the coaches since September, a first in program history.
UCLA earned 16 of the 19 available first-place votes to remain the only squad to earn top honors this season.
With a team stroke average of 289.1, the Bruins are on pace to set a school record. They have not finished worse than second place in seven appearances and are just 45 strokes over par in 21 rounds.
Juniors Lee Lopez and Tiffany Lua and freshman Erynne Lee all have stroke averages of 72.48 or lower, the only team with a trio of players that can boast this distinction. Lua and Lee, in particular, have 100% counter ratios, meaning neither has had a score thrown out in team competition. Lopez's 90% counter figure ranks second on the team. All three players are ranked among the nation's Top 10 individuals.
