BRUINS FINISH SIX-GAME HOMESTAND, OFF FOR EASTER
The Bruins play host to their Pac-10 travel partner, Washington, for a two-game set this weekend. UCLA and the Huskies are set to play at 1 pm on Friday and Saturday before enjoying Easter Sunday as a day off.
The two teams will play the final game of the three-game season series on Wednesday, April 25, in Seattle, the final game of a seven-game road swing for UCLA.
SATURDAY'S GAME TIME CHANGED TO 1 PM
The game time for UCLA's Saturday, April 7 game with Washington has been changed to 1 pm in order to better accommodate the Huskies travel arrangements back to Seattle. The game had previously been scheduled for a 2 pm start.
WEEKEND SERIES WITH WASHINGTON LAST OF SIX-GAME HOMESTAND
UCLA concludes a six-game homestand this weekend with Friday and Saturday contests against Washington at Easton Stadium.
The Bruins will play their first two Pac-10 weekends at home before hitting the road for a seven-game road stretch with stops in Oregon, the Bay Area and an April 25 contest against the Huskies in Seattle. UCLA then returns home for a six-game homestand before closing out the regular season in Arizona.
PAC-10 TRAVEL PARTNER WEEKEND
Two Pac-10 schools, Washington State and USC, do not sponsor the sport of softball, leaving UCLA and Washington without their "traditional" travel partners in this sport.
This leaves a complicated travel schedule for the remaining six Pac-10 schools, who must play at either UCLA on Washington on Friday before flying to the other city for a Saturday/Sunday weekend set of games.
The Pac-10 softball schedule is played over seven weeks with Easter Sunday as an "off day" and a weekend that is utilized for the two-game set of games between travel partners.Only Stanford and Cal will play their entire season series this weekend. The three other travel partner pairs (ARIZ/ASU, ORE/OSU, UCLA/UW) will complete their series later in April.
