UCLA Women's Rowing Takes First, Second at Head of the Marina

Newport Beach, Calif. - The UCLA women's rowing team continued their fall slate Saturday at the Head of the Marina, where both UCLA novice 8+ crews finished ahead of Loyola Marymount.

The Bruins' novice 8+ "A" crew finished the race in 20 minutes, and the "B" crew posted a time of 21:18. Loyola Marymount finished third, racing in 22:52.

UCLA's novice 8+ "A" boat consisted of Lily Sakkis (stroke), Caitlin Czisny, Sam Melzer, Ashley Guzik, Lauren Counter, Christine Seidel, Christine Fiacco, Bree Hernandez (bow) and Marissa Linden (coxswain). The novice 8+ "B" boat consisted of Courtney Frager (stroke), Charlotte Burke, Halsey Hixson, Jennica Jenssen, Christina Sprouse, Slavka Stanojevic, Jennifer Perkins, Lila Miller (bow) and Megan Petitti (coxswain).
