Bruins Secure Runner-up Finish in Georgia

The UCLA men's golf team captured second place at the U.S. Collegiate Championship Tuesday in Alpharetta, GA.

The Bruins posted a final round score of 290 (+2) and finished the 54-hole event at 863 (-1). Host Georgia Tech won the tournament with a score of 28-under par 838. Texas A&M captured third place at 866 (+2) followed by USC in fourth place at 867 (+3). Virginia was fifth at 870 (+6).

Individually for the Bruins, sophomore Mario Clemens and freshman Patrick Cantlay tied for seventh place at one-under par 215. Clemens posted a final round score of 72 (E) and Cantlay carded a score of 75 (+3). Junior Gregor Main tied for 14th place at 216 (E) after carding a 71 (-1) in the final round. Sophomore Pontus Widegren tied for 17th place at 218 (+2) following a round of 72 (E). Junior Alex Shi Yup Kim tied for 57th at 12-over par 228 after his round of 75 (+3).

Georgia Tech's James White captured first place with a score of 12-under par 204.
