LOS ANGELES - UCLA women's tennis freshmen Skylar Morton and Robin Anderson head to New York this week to take part in the prestigious USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, Nov. 3-6 at the USTA's Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Morton and Anderson received an automatic bid to the tournament's doubles draw after winning the title at last month's USTA/ITA Southwest Regionals in San Diego. The Bruin duo has a bye in the first round and will meet the winner of Kerrie Cartwright/Audrey Leitz (Tyler JC) and Kaitlyn Christian/Sabrina Santamaria (USC) on Thursday afternoon.
In addition to playing doubles in New York, Anderson received an at-large selection to the 32-player singles draw. She opens up play on Thursday against Baylor's Diana Nakic. Anderson is a 5-8 seed in the tournament.
More information about the tournament can be found on the ITA Website.
