SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Senior Brittany Rowe recorded a game-high three goals to lead the No. 1 UCLA women's water polo team past No. 17 UC Santa Barbara in an MPSF contest Saturday afternoon at UCSB's Campus Pool. Seven Bruins scored in the win, as UCLA improved to 18-0 this season with a 4-0 MPSF mark.
UCLA raced to a 2-0 lead after the first quarter and added three more goals in the second period. The Bruins used a 5-0 run in the third quarter to assume a commanding 10-0 lead before scoring twice more in the final quarter.
UCLA's junior goalkeeper Brittany Fullen recorded six saves in cage, posting her second shutout of the season. Last weekend, the Bruins' starting goalkeeper totaled 40 saves in four matches at the UC Irvine Invitational before capturing MPSF Player of the Week accolades.
The Bruins return to action Saturday, March 8, at home against Stanford. Game time is slated for 3 p.m.
