Ojai, Calif. - Playing in just her first Pac-10 Championships, freshman Carling Seguso won five matches without dropping a set, eventually claiming the Invitational singles title at the 109th Ojai Valley Championships held at Libbey Park on Sunday.
Seguso, the Bruins' No. 6 singles player, capped her impressive week with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Cal's Marion Ravelojaona in Sunday's final. UCLA actually swept the Invitational draws in Ojai this year, as Maya Johansson and Anna-Viktoria Lind took the doubles crown on Sunday with an 8-2 win over Stanford's Isamarie Perez/Jennifer Yen.
The Bruin men didn't fare as well as the women on Sunday, coming up just short in their bid for two titles. Eugen Brazdil and Michael Look lost a marathon match in the main draw doubles final, falling to Stanford's Bradley Klahn/Ryan Thacher, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(2). It was a still a great tournament for Brazdil and Look, as the two players had never played together prior to this week.
Brazdil was also beaten in the Invitational singles final on Sunday, falling to USC's Daniel Nguyen, 6-3, 6-1.

Next up for UCLA is the NCAA Tournament. The 64-team draws will be announced this Tuesday on ESPNews.
