Turquoise Thompson Named UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of Week

Junior Turquoise Thompson (Lakewood, Calif./Junipero Serra HS) of the UCLA women's track and field team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for June 4-10.

Thompson finished in second place for the second consecutive year in the 400m hurdles at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, running the No. 16 mark in the world this year on Friday, 55.28. Her mark was just .06 seconds out of first place and .3 seconds faster than her previous PR. It also ranks fifth on the 2012 USATF outdoor list and moves her from eighth to seventh all-time in conference history. Thompson earned first-team All-America honors for her second-place finish.

This is Thompson's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and second of her career.
