Men's Golf Tied for Fourth after Round One in Oklahoma

The nationally ranked UCLA men's golf team was tied for fourth place after the first round of the Fall Preview at Oklahoma State's Karsten Creek Golf Course.

With a slope of 152 and yardage stretching more than 7,400 yards, the golf course was the winner on Sunday. Host Oklahoma State took the first round lead at even par 288. Texas A&M was second at 297 (+9), followed by Georgia Tech at 298 (+10). UCLA was tied with Oregon and Georgia at 12-over par 300.

Individually, junior Gregor Main was the Bruins' top scorer, managing a 74 (+2). He was tied for eighth place. Sophomores Pontus Widegren and Pedro Figueiredo were a shot behind at three-over par 75. Junior Alex Shi Yup Kim was tied for 30th after posting a 76 (+4). Freshman Patrick Cantlay, in his first round as a collegian, posted a 79 (+7) and was tied for 47th.

Oklahoma State's Taylor Gooch was the first round leader after posting a 69 (-3) on Sunday.
