Sophomore quarterback Patrick Cowan (Pico Rivera, Calif./St. John Bosco HS) of the UCLA football team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week (Nov. 27-Dec. 3).
In the 13-9 win over USC that knocked the Trojans out of the BCS Championship game, Cowan completed 12 of 21 passes for 114 yards. In addition, he was the team's leading rusher with 55 net yards on 10 carries and scored UCLA's only touchdown. On the 91-yard touchdown drive, UCLA's longest of the year, he ran for 55 yards on four carries, including runs of 29 and 16 yards, and scored on a one-yard run. He also completed both of his pass attempts on the drive for 19 yards.
This is Cowan's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
