LOS ANGELES - UCLA's Vanessa Teff has captured first-team All-West Region honors from the Collegiate Coaches Rowing Association (CRCA) for the second consecutive season. Teff, a two-time Pocock All-America selection, gained first-team All-West Region honors for the second consecutive season.
The CRCA postseason honors recognize the outstanding performances of rowers from each of the Division I regions, organized into first- and second-team selections.
Teff was key member of UCLA's varsity eight crew all season, leading the Bruins to dual-meet victories against San Diego State and Loyola Marymount. The Bruins' varsity eight crew raced to a first-place finish at the Stanford Invite and finished fifth in the Grand Final of the San Diego Crew Classic.
In addition, sophomores Lynn Hancock, Christina King and Christina Sprouse each earned CRCA Scholar-Athlete recognition. Hancock, a consistent contributor on the varsity eight all season, has compiled a 3.713 grade-point average as a political science major.
King, a sophomore majoring in communication studies, has registered a 3.831 grade-point average. Sprouse, a sophomore physics major, has tallied a 3.889 grade-point average in her sophomore year. Both King and Sprouse competed on UCLA's varsity four crew.
