Four Bruins Endure Tough Day at U.S. Women's Open

Four UCLA golfers endured a tough opening round at the U.S. Women's Open Thursday at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, PA.

Current UCLA junior Stephanie Kono led a foursome of players with UCLA ties by posting a first round score of 78 (+7) and was tied for 87th place. Alumns Tiffany Joh was tied for 131st after carding an 82 (+11) and Giulia Sergas was in a group tied for 111th after signing for a score of 80 (+9), while former All-American Charlotte Mayorkas was tied for 138th after posting a score of 83 (+12).

The U.S. Women's Open is a 72-hole event, but the field will be cut after 36 holes.
