Bruins Picked to Finish 2nd in Pac-12 Women's Soccer Standings

Aug. 6, 2012

Walnut Creek, Calif. - Following a vote of league coaches, the UCLA women's soccer team was picked to finish second behind Stanford in this year's Pac-12 title race, as the conference released its 2012 Pac-12 Preseason Coaches' Poll on Monday.

UCLA is coming off a second-place finish in last year's league standings, ending the conference season with an 8-1-2 record. The Bruins are expected to have a real shot at this year's title, as the team returns 10 of 11 starters from a squad that lost just one match in 2011 (16-1-4 overall).

UCLA and Stanford were the only schools to receive first-place votes on Monday, with Stanford receiving 10 and UCLA two.

UCLA kicks off the season in less than two weeks, as the team is scheduled to face UConn in Storrs, Conn. on Aug. 17. CLICK HERE FOR HOME SOCCER TICKETS
