Sophomore midfielder Sal Zizzo (San Diego, Calif./Patrick Henry HS) of the UCLA men's soccer team was selected for the second consecutive week as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week (Nov. 20-26).
Zizzo scored the game-tying and game-winning goals in the NCAA quarterfinals to send UCLA to the College Cup for the 12th time in school history. His goals capped off an improbable comeback on the road against No. 1 seeded Duke, who had jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 19th minute. Zizzo scored in the 78th minute to tie the game, and he ended the game just 30 seconds into overtime with a close-range shot. Zizzo has scored five goals with one assist in the NCAA Tournament and now has seven goals, nine assists and 23 points on the year.
This is Zizzo's second UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
