Sophomore Marisa Samaniego led the Bruins divers on day two of the Minnesota Invitational, placing secod on one-meter with a score of 268.70. Teammates Amanda Blong and Sara Clark finished just behind Samaniego in third and fourth-place with Blong scoring 263.75 and Clark scoring 254.30.
"We had a very nice team effort tonight," said Dive Coach Tom Stebbins. "I am happy with our mistakes. We have a couple of weeks to tighten some details up. Marisa was very close to being incredible tonight and is very close to jumping to a new level of diving, but was just a little off in each dive. I hope we get to see it in a couple of weeks in Texas.
"Both Amanda and Sara were very solid tonight, also. They were both steady through their lists. Again, we have some details that we have to really get nailed down if we are going to really be successful at the end of the year. I am looking forward to that work in the coming weeks."
Sophomore Tess Schofield finished 18th in the preliminaries with a score of 205.05. Schofield will compete Sunday on the tower event to wrap up the competition for the Bruins.
