Freshman forward Tyler Honeycutt is out 1-2 more weeks with a stress reaction in his right tibia. It was announced on Nov. 8, 2009 that Honeycutt had the injury. He is the only Bruin slated to miss UCLA's contest with Portland (Nov. 26) due to injury. However, the Bruins have missed plenty of practice time this year with seven different scholarship players missing at least one week of practice due to injuries.

This is just the fourth meeting between the Portland Pilots and UCLA with the Bruins winning all three previous meetings in Pauley Pavilion. The first two contests were in the 60s when UCLA was ranked No. 1 in the country. The last meeting was a 105-67 win at home on Dec. 14, 2002.

UCLA has compiled a 71-18 (.798) record in 31 in-season tournaments. The Bruins have won 17 of those tournaments, most recently winning titles at the 2007 CBE Classic and the 2006 Maui Invitational. Under head coach Ben Howland, UCLA has gone 13-2 in four in-season tournaments -- the 2005 NIT Season Tip-Off, the 2006 Maui Invitational, the 2007 CBE Classic and the 2008 2K Sports Classic. At the 2007 CBE Classic, UCLA defeated Maryland (71-59) and Michigan State (68-63) to win their last in-season title.

UCLA head coach Ben Howland announced on Tuesday, Nov. 24, that senior forward Nikola Dragovic has been reinstated to play this week after a two-game suspension following his arrest on Friday, Nov. 20. He missed the Pepperdine (Nov. 23) and Cal State Bakersfield games (Nov. 20).

Dragovic was involved in an incident last month at a concert in Hollywood. He filed a report with the UCLA Police Department early the following week. Following an investigation, the Los Angeles District Attorney's office filed a felony assault charge against Dragovic and he was informed of the charge on the morning of Nov. 20. He turned himself into UCPD and Hollywood Division detectives early on Nov. 20.

"Based on the information available to us and in consultation with our legal counsel, we feel the two-game suspension for Nikola Dragovic is appropriate at this time and we have reinstated him to the men's basketball team," UCLA Athletic Director Dan Guerrero said. "While Nikola has been charged, nothing has yet been proven. We will continue to monitor the legal proceedings closely and, of course, reserve the right to impose additional sanctions should the situation merit them."
