Swimmers Head To Texas For NCAA Championships

Seven swimmers will begin competition at the 2011 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships this Thursday in Austin, TX. The three-day meet features the best of the best and the Bruins will be looking to improve on last year's 25th-place team finish.

Heading to Austin are seniors Brittany Beauchan, Lauren Hall, Alex Sullivan and Sam Vanden Berge, juniors Yasi Jahanshahi and Bianca Casciari and freshman Cynthia Fascella.

Each woman is allowed to compete in up to three individual events in which she has achieved at least the B cut time. Below is a breakdown of who competes in what on each day of the meet.

  • 50 free - Fascella
  • 400 medley relay

  • 100 breast - Beauchan
  • 800 free relay


  • 1650 free - Vanden Berge
  • 100 free - Fascella
  • 200 breast - Beauchan, Hall
  • 200 fly - Jahanshahi, Casciari
  • 400 free relay
